how to create Emojams from your YouTube custom emoji?
choose an existing emoji
Go through the existing emoji and come up with a creative audio bite that would match the visual.
Good places to start: greetings, catchphrases on your channel, memes, jokes, funny sound effects.
choose what to animate
Great choices are arms moving up and down or hands waving, eyes opening or closing, head-turning, and mouth moving.
Pro tips: animated text can be added to the visual to make it more dynamic.
If you receive a file with layers, you have much more flexibility in what you are able to animate.
If your file does not have layers, and you would like to animate parts of the illustrations that will require additional design, you’ll need to request alternate layers from the designer for those parts.
pick your sound
Record your audio bite. The ideal length is 2 to 6 seconds, but you can go up to 15 seconds.
We recommend recording a few different takes of your audio so you and your animator have options!
If you don’t want to use your own voice, an excellent source for sound effects is freesound.org.
animate your emoji
Now that you have chosen your emoji, the custom parts you want to animate, and the audio file to soundtrack it, send the elements along with a brief description of your vision for your emojam to your animator.
If text is part of your animation, be sure you also send a style guide including font name and color references.
Before your upload your GIF and MP3 to the Emojam studio, we recommend asking the animators to send you an MP4 video preview of your emojam so you can approve it:-)
Final deliverables should be a 500 x 500 px minimum GIF with transparency, and the corresponding audio bite as an MP3. More info about the guidelines here.
go to Emojam Studio
Upload the delivered GIF and your audio bite to studio.emojam.com, confirming that visual and audio sync!
