We are looking for a passionate product design leader to work on our EmoJam apps, partnerships and EmoJam Studio, an online platform that allows artists and content creators to deliver rich visual messaging content for messaging and social media users across platforms and partnerships.
You’ll join a cross-functional group working on helping messaging and social media users find the perfect EmoJam to communicate their mood and personality through music. Someone who is passionate about visual messaging, digital conversations, personalization, music, Gen-Z, and Millennials, and has the mastery of their craft to turn anything into beautifully designed products. Together, we’ll look holistically at how to continue bringing messaging and social media users the content that they want, making content recommendations more contextually appropriate and relevant, while making it dead easy for artists, labels and managers to release music stickers.
You’ll lead design and research and be tasked with reinvent our user experience for mobile apps and design process and tools to support the creative marketplace we are building with EmoJam Studio. You’ll work on multiple contexts and device ecosystems, including native web, mobile, software integrations, and much more.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will rethink EmoJam iOS and Android apps. You set the vision for the user experience, create beautiful and practical designs to optimize content discovery and sharing. You will listen to Gen-Z and Millennials and let their needs guide us to create the best and funniest experiences, animations and interfaces that add value to their life and digital conversations. You will also liaise with engineers to iterate solutions that delight our users, from new formats to gamification and monetization.
You will work closely with our partners (Google, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.) to adapt EmoJam experiences and interfaces on external platforms. You will be proactive and curious about what they are focused on and how EmoJam can improve their own product.
You will connect with artists, labels, and managers to design EmoJam Studio. It is important for us to know that the web portal is optimized for their needs and allow them to be autonomous as they are adding new content to EmoJam, tracking results and monetizing content. Along the way, we’ll create new formats for artists, labels and managers (3D, full-screen filters, immersive font…) and tools to interact with fans directly.
You will team up with online music players (Tunecore, Tidal, etc.) to create and adapt plug-in for their users to distribute content on EmoJam apps and partners.
Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way.
Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.
WHO ARE YOU?
You have experience designing at consumer-focused tech or media companies; experience designing for content discovery search is a plus.
You are an incredible designer with amazing design chops. You’ve shipped consumer products over the years, and understand what it takes to create awesome, consumer-oriented experiences.
You get nervous if you’re not designing, testing and polishing beautiful, crisp, clean, recent and intuitive mobile and web interfaces: you are the face of the product that will be used by millions of artists and fans.
You’re a great communicator. You have the communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts. You also have the ability to build long-term relationships with partners.
You love music, culture, lifestyle, tech. You have the ability to think like a marketer and like a teenager at the same time.
You have an online portfolio, or PDF that you can share with us.
You are able to provide a brief explanation in your application of why you are excellent for this role, while highlighting your portfolio.
We have a similar position opened as a art director - graphic designer and storyteller. Please check it and let us know if it’s in your cord.
